Linda Sutton is a Deputy Sheriff at the Miami County Sheriff's Department in Peru, Indiana. She completed the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in March 1997 and was certified as a Hostage Crisis Negotiator in May 2000. Linda is also a Field Training Officer, Evidence Custodian, Intelligence Officer and Crash Reconstructionist having completed training at Northwestern University in the spring of 2008.
Captain Darrell Richey is a 16 year veteran for the Indiana Department of Corrections. Since July 2007, he has been assigned to division of Staff Development Emergency Operations. He is an instructor for In-Service Training for the IDOC and instructs/certifies all IDOC negotiators. The two primary teams he oversees is the IDOC SITCON (Negotiators) as well as the Critical Incident Stress Management Team. Captain Richey began his career in 1993 as a correctional officer at the Reception Diagnostic Center, and then transferred to the Correctional Industrial Facility in 1994. During his tenure at Correctional Industrial Facility he promoted up through the ranks to the rank of Captain in 2000. He was also sworn in as one of the IDOC Correctional Police Officers on February 5, 2010, from the first inaugural class. He has received Hostage Crisis Negotiation training from the FBI, Crisis Intervention Training from IMPD, as well as International Critical Incident Stress Foundation (ICISF). He has been a board member on IAHCN for almost 2 years and is assigned as one of IDOC Representatives.
Detective Chester Price is a 23 year veteran of the Indianapolis Police Department and has been a member of the department’s hostage negotiations unit for the last 8 years. He is also the training coordinator for the Indianapolis team, where he develops in service training for the unit. Detective Price is assigned to the investigations division in the Missing Persons Unit, where he is assigned missing persons, child abduction and kidnapping cases and routinely serves as an instructor both for in-service training as well as at the academy with the recruits, teaching missing persons, and response to crisis and hostage situations. Det Price was the 1994 Indianapolis, Marion Co Police officer of the year and in 2006 was named the Special Services officer of the year for his work on the Hostage Negotiations Unit.

Detective /Missing Persons Unit/ IMPD Hostage Negotiations Unit training Coordinator
Lt. Detective Alan Malone has been employed with the Tell City Police Dept. for approximately 13 years. He has been one of their two trained negotiators for 10 years. Prior to becoming a police officer he worked for both the Florida and Indiana Dept. of Corrections. In addition to the above duties, Lt. Malone is a certified general instructor in Indiana. He is the Vice President of the Southwest Indiana Law Enforcement Training Council. He is a member of the Perry County Rescue Squad and the Law Enforcement Representative for the Local Emergency Planning Committee. He is a member of the Perry County Substance Abuse Committee. Lt. Malone is currently one of two South Region representatives on the IAHCN Board of Directors.
Chris is a 29 year veteran of the Indiana State Police. He is currently the Area Investigative Lieutenant for the southwestern quarter of the state. He has been a Negotiator since 1995 and is currently the commander of the Indiana State Police Hostage Crisis Negotiation Team. He has served on the Board of Directors since the inception of the IAHCN. He served as President of the Association in 2006 and 2007.
William “Bill” Searing has been with the Indiana Dept. of Corrections for 28 years. He currently holds the rank of Lieutenant and is assigned to the Reception Diagnostic Center at the Plainfield Correctional Facility. He is the only employee in the history of IDOC to have served on all of their emergency teams. Bill has been a negotiator and instructor for seven years. During that time he has served on the IAHCN Board of Directors as a South Region Representative. In January of 2008 the Association’s Board elected him to fulfill the additional duties of Board President.
