Our Mission
Our mission is simple. We strive to improve the negotiating skills of each of our members through a sustained effort to educate. We do this by providing exceptional training, quality educational materials, technology-focused information exchange, and good, old-fashioned networking capabilities in the field of Hostage/Crisis Negotiations.
Promoting this specialty within the law enforcement and corrections professions helps to reinforce practices and procedures that have proven successful in resolving critical incidents and hostage crises more safely and with better overall outcomes. We believe it encourages the adoption of standards and policies by law enforcement agencies and correctional departments consistent with community expectations, legal requirements, and respect for life.
The Indiana Association of Hostage-Crisis Negotiators, Inc. (IAHCN) is a member of the National Crisis Negotiators Association (NCNA).
